HONEY BALM
Late 19th century researchers discovered that honey has natural antibacterial qualities. Honey protects the body against damage caused by bacteria. Some honey can boost production of special cells that can repair tissue damage by infection. The honey has an antibacterial and antifungal effect. This ensures better tissue regeneration and reduces the formation of scar tissue. In addition to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, honey enhances the wound healing process.
The treatment of human wounds is recommended as follows:
Clean the wound thoroughly. Put the HoneyBalm generously on the plaster and leave overnight. Repeat if necessary.
The treatment of animal wounds/cuts/scrapes/rashes is recommended as follows:
Clean the wound thoroughly with an antiseptic. Put the Balm directly on the wound. Repeat daily, or until the skin looks “calmed” or the wound looks good enough to recover on its own.
The treatment of mud fever is recommended as follows:
Wash the affected area with an antiseptic shampoo, to cleanse and nurture. Make sure that any stuck scabs are not dislodged, as this can cause a new wound. Dry the leg well. Then apply the HoneyBalm. It is wise to properly disinfect the brushes that are used (especially the brushes that are used on the legs) with, for example, Dettol/water mix. This is to prevent contamination of other legs, or new contamination of the recovering leg.
To prevent mud fever, rub the pastern cavities of the horse with HoneyBalm on a regular base. The oily composition of the balm, will protect and purify the skin in a damp environment.
HoneyBalm contains high quality beeswax, raw honey, and castor oil. The combination of these ingredients is put together in such a way to facilitate optimal healing.
Enjoy the wonderful effect of HoneyBalm!
